Notes taken from Fausto Ferrara’s sketchbook:
“…more than a museum, I’m thinking of a place where art, the sky, the earth, and people can meet each other. A home, an “Art House.”
I’m looking for sensations more than functions.
The idea is a sense of community, a spirit where art connects with the place itself and the place becomes an isolated world, where exhibitions expose people to art and generate a union between people and the place, a place of art.
I seek to reveal the emotions that the place evokes: the architecture must produce corporeal sensations, those that wake the senses and make the union between art and nature possible. In this way, art can fuse with the natural events and forces that drive human beings toward rediscovery – human beings meaning the living essence between sky and earth…”
